About Rate My Council
Find the public body, see what it does, see what people think, and tell people what you think.
We publish factual information about Scotland’s councils and the partnerships and public bodies that deliver services on their behalf. Members of the public supply the opinions.
What we publish
- Fact files – contact details, leadership, population, council tax and links to official pages. Each fact file shows where the information came from and when we last checked it.
- Services – using the service names each organisation uses itself.
- Reviews – first-hand experiences, good or bad, with a star rating for the organisation and the service.
What the ratings mean
Ratings are the average of the reviews people have chosen to leave. They are not an objective measure of how well an organisation performs, and we don’t rank councils against each other. We always show how many reviews a score is based on: a 4.8 from five reviews tells you much less than a 4.2 from two thousand.
Independence
We are independent and not affiliated with any council or public body. Organisation names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify them.
